One of the most prestigious accomplishments in sports will always be attaining the Olympic gold medal. Amanda Borden did just that as the team captain of the 1996 U.S.A. Women’s Gymnastics Team. Along with Dominique Moceanu, Amy Chow, Jaycie Phelps, Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller and Kerri Strug, the “Magnificent Seven” made history as they became the first women’s gymnastics team to win the gold medal.
